Central European Institute at Quinnipiac University and Murtha Cullina LLP invite you to a free luncheon discussion led by Mr. Stanislaw Knaflewski, MIT Sloan Visiting Fellow (technology investment) and co-founder and Managing partner of private investment firm Altamira VC focused on technologies with industrial and healthcare applications. Mr. Knaflewski will discuss Polish and Central Europeandevelopments in bio-tech and life sciences, including foreign direct investment opportunities from the EU/Central Europe/ Poland to Connecticut and other collaboration in the VC/life science area.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Stanislaw (Stan) Knaflewski is globally educated expert and practitioner in broadly understood technology investment.

Stan’s long career in technology investing includes most current assignments with the Boston Consulting Group in Poland and Paris, consultancy with the World Bank and Polish National Center for Research and Development.

From 1999 – 2013, Stan was a Partner, Member of the Board of Directors and the Vice President of the Enterprise Investors, a leading Central Eastern European private equity firm, headquartered in Warsaw, with a premier US and EU investor base. Stanislaw Knaflewski led numerous investment projects, was responsible for monitoring and value-adding in portfolio companies, participated in the creation and implementation of corporate development strategies. He co-led cross-border M&A transactions and the setup of greenfield foreign subsidiaries for investee companies.

His Pro Bono activities include being a founder and Chairman of the Board of Valores (valores.pl), Poland’s first venture philanthropy fund, applying the venture capital approach to charities and non-governmental organizations working with youth at risk, homeless, disabled, and other disadvantaged social groups. He also was a co-founder and committee chairman of Polish Private Equity and Venture Capital Association, the Polish chapter of InvestEurope.

He obtained his MBA with Distinction at INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France, Master of Laws in European Community Law from College of Europe, Bruges, Belgium and Juris Doctor with Honors from University of A. Mickiewicz, Poznan, Poland.
