HARTFORD, CT (August 2, 2018)…Murtha Cullina Attorney Melissa A. Federico has been appointed to the Executive Committee of the Antitrust and Trade Regulation Section of the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA).

The Antitrust and Trade Regulation Section promotes the educational and professional objectives of the CBA within the practice area of state and federal antitrust, trade regulation and related laws pertaining to the regulation of business.  The Section achieves those objectives by providing relevant Continuing Legal Education to its members, providing relevant updates to its members of important developments concerning state and federal antitrust and trade regulation, fostering discussion of current issues affecting the practice area and engaging in legislative advocacy on issues relating to the practice area.

Ms. Federico is a member of Murtha Cullina’s Litigation Department.  She litigates business disputes including breach of contract, shareholder disputes, violations of the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act (CUTPA) and other business torts.  She also litigates intellectual property disputes, including patent infringement actions, theft of trade secrets, trademark/ trade dress infringement, copyright infringement, unfair competition and false designation of origin.

Ms. Federico serves on the Board of Directors for the Hartford County Bar Association.  She is also a member of the Business Law, Federal Practice and Insurance Law Sections of the CBA. She is a volunteer attorney for Lawyers for Children America and serves on its Board of Directors.  In 2014, Ms. Federico was selected by the Connecticut Law Tribune as one of Connecticut’s “New Leaders in the Law.” Ms. Federico received her Bachelor’s degree from Stonehill College and her J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law.
