Richard Marone is a Partner at Murtha Cullina and advises individuals, families and private businesses in the areas of wealth transfer planning, business law and taxation. He assists individuals and private businesses with sophisticated estate planning, trust and estate administration, tax planning and compliance, family business succession planning, and business transactions. He also counsels trustees in the proper exercise of their fiduciary duties. Mr. Marone has been certified as a probate and trust dispute mediator by The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (“ACTEC”). He also advises exempt organizations on taxation and governance issues.

Mr. Marone currently serves as Chair of the Murtha Cullina Trusts & Estates Department and he is a Fellow of ACTEC. He is also a Director of the Connecticut Farmland Trust, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of Connecticut’s working farmlands.

Mr. Marone earned his L.L.M. in taxation from Boston University, his J.D. from the College of William and Mary and his B.A. from Fairfield University.
