On June 12, partner Robert Kaelin participated in a 2024 Norton Bankruptcy Law Webinar titled "Avoidance Actions in Bankruptcy Cases." The panel reviewed strategies for pursuing such claims and recent decisions relating to avoidance powers, including preferences and their exceptions. Other topics included recent cases dealing with the impact of the allowance of §503(b)(9) claims on the new value defense along with strategies for the pursuit of Stern claims.
Bob serves as co-chair of the Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights practice at Murtha Cullina. His robust bankruptcy practice includes representation of creditors in Chapter 7 and 11 proceedings, debtors in Chapter 11 business reorganizations, Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 trustees, secured creditors, commercial landlords and clients in bankruptcy avoidance and dischargeability actions.
