Patricia Reilly, Labor and Employment Group Chair and Education Group Co-Chair, and Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Counsel Melanie Aska will be speakers at the 21st Independent School HR Forum on January 19.
Tricia will present on Fair Labor Standard Act rules on employee classification to help employers determine how to classify employees as exempt or non-exempt, whether you need to pay them overtime, and other rules relating to exempt and non-exempt classification. Tricia also discussed properly classifying instructors or other individuals working at a school as employees or independent contractors.
Melanie will discuss legislative updates regarding changes to 403 (b) plans as a result of the recently enacted SECURE 2.0 Act of 2022.
