Murtha Cullina is pleased to announce the promotion of two of our lawyers to counsel, Patrick Coughlin in the Trusts and Estates Department and Vincent (Vin) Merola in the Business and Finance Department, the Privately Owned Business Group and the Emerging Companies Group.

- Patrick Coughlin (Stamford, CT): Patrick’s practice includes estate planning, estate and trust administration, and estate litigation. He works with clients to develop and implement sophisticated estate plans. Patrick represents fiduciaries and beneficiaries in the administration and settlement of estates and trusts in Connecticut and New York, and prepares Probate and Surrogate’s Court pleadings, nonjudicial settlement agreements, accountings, fiduciary income tax returns, and federal and state estate tax returns.
- Vincent Merola (Hartford, CT): Vin represents clients in the areas of general corporate law, securities and mergers and acquisitions. He advises companies at all stages of their business lifecycle, including entity formation, capital raises, financing, acquisitions and dispositions. He has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements, such as service agreements, supply agreements, licensing agreements as well as shareholder agreements and buy/sell agreements. Vin also assists clients with the development and implementation of business succession plans.
