Jennifer Morgan DelMonico, the Managing Partner of Murtha Cullina LLP, was recently named a “2020 Woman Leader in the Law” by the National Corporate Counsel and The American Lawyer Magazines.
The Women Leaders in the Law section features female attorneys who have demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities and have achieved the AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell®. Martindale-Hubbell® Ratings have recognized lawyers for their strong legal ability and high ethical standards for more than a century.
Ms. DelMonico has been a trial lawyer for parties in complex commercial litigation disputes and defendants in tort and product liability actions for over 20 years. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Lex Mundi, the world’s leading network of independent law firms. She is Chair of the Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) Board of Directors and the Immediate Past Board Chair of the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce (GNHCC). In addition, she is the past Chair of Goodwill of Southern New England and the Cultural Affairs Commission for the City of New Haven.
Ms. DelMonico is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC), the Executive Committee of the CBA Federal Practice Section, and the New Haven Inn of Court. She is also a James W. Cooper Fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation, as well as the former Secretary/ Treasurer of the Foundation of the New Haven County Bar. In 2019, she was named one of the Top 50 Women Super Lawyers in New England and one of the Top 25 Women Super Lawyers in Connecticut. She has received numerous other honors and awards, including the Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year Award (2018), the Hartford Business Journal Women in Business Award (2017), the DuPont Minority Counsel Network Diversity Sponsorship Recognition Award (2014), the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce Alumnus of the Leadership Center Award (2011), and the MS Corporate Achiever Award (2007).
Prior to becoming the Managing Partner of Murtha Cullina in January 2015, Ms. DelMonico was Chair of the Firm’s Litigation Department. She earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and a Bachelor of Music degree from Northwestern University.
