Congratulations to Bob Kaelin, partner and co-chair of the firm’s Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights Group, on his selection as 2023 Lawyer of the Year in Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law in Hartford, CT by Best Lawyers.

According to Best Lawyers’ its “Lawyers of the Year” are the individual lawyers with the highest overall peer-feedback for a specific practice area and geographic region in a Best Lawyers edition. Only one lawyer is recognized as the "Lawyer of the Year" for each specialty and location.

Bob’s bankruptcy practice includes representing both creditors and debtors in Chapter 11, 13 and 7 bankruptcy cases. He has represented numerous debtors, creditors’ committees, secured creditors, landlords and trustees both in Connecticut and around the country.

Bob is the past Chair of the Connecticut Bar Association, Commercial Law & Bankruptcy Section and the past Chair of the Annual CT Bankruptcy Conference. He continues to serve on the Section’s Executive committee. Bob currently serves on the American Bankruptcy Institute Northeast Bankruptcy Conference Advisory Board and on the Turnaround Management Association, CT Chapter Board of Directors. Bob is also a contributing editor to Norton Bankruptcy Law and Practice, 3d (Thomson-West) and a faculty member for the Norton Bankruptcy Litigation Institute I, which is held in Park City, Utah.

Inclusion in the Best Lawyers® list is based on nomination, voting and evaluation by peers in the same practice area and geographic region. Best Lawyers® assesses the information and checks each attorney's status with local bar associations. Lawyers do not pay to be included. First published in 1983, The Best Lawyers in America is regarded as a definitive guide to excellence in the local profession.
