NEW HAVEN, CT (June 29, 2018)…Murtha Cullina LLP is pleased to welcome Erek M. Sharp as a Partner in the Business and Finance Department and the Employee Benefits Practice Group. 

Mr. Sharp regularly analyzes, drafts and amends both qualified and nonqualified plan documents. He has extensive experience counseling a diverse roster of clients in connection with plan implementation, compliance and termination-related matters arising under ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code and other applicable laws. Mr. Sharp also counsels clients with regard to their fiduciary obligations and has provided advice in connection with prohibited transaction issues and the application of related class or statutory exemptions. He also counsels clients in connection with benefits and compensation issues arising in merger and acquisition transactions.

Mr. Sharp is a Board Member for the Connecticut Chapter of the National Institute of Pension Administrators. He is also a Board Member for Mercy Housing and Shelter Corporation. Mr. Sharp received his J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Maine.
