Hartford, CT (October 17, 2014)…In October 2014, the Town of Simsbury appointed Murtha Cullina LLP as the Town’s Employment Law Counsel.
Effective immediately, Murtha Cullina’s Michael Colgan Harrington will serve as the principal relationship partner for the Town of Simsbury’s labor and employment needs. As a member of Murtha Cullina’s Litigation Department, Mr. Harrington devotes his time to assisting private and public employers with all aspects of the employment relationship.
With matters impacting the Town of Simsbury, Mr. Harrington will be supported by a team of knowledgeable and effective attorneys, including Jennifer A. Corvo and Michael C. Markowicz. Ms. Corvo assists clients with labor and employment law matters, contract disputes and commercial litigation. Mr. Markowicz advises municipalities and educational institutions concerning labor and employment matters, municipal tax appeals, and administrative land use appeals.
The Municipal Law Practice Group of Murtha Cullina serves as special counsel to approximately 40 municipalities in Connecticut in the areas of land use, environmental law, economic development, water and sewer matters, litigation, legislative, renewable energy, and labor and employment law. Currently, the firm also serves as general counsel or town attorney for seven Connecticut municipalities: Avon, Cheshire, Cromwell, Portland, Lisbon, Sterling and the Borough of Stonington.
In addition, Murtha Cullina serves as general counsel to the Connecticut Association of Water Pollution Control Authorities (CAWPCA) and the Renewable Energy & Efficiency Business Association (REEBA), and special counsel to the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM).
